The IPAF Harness Awareness and Harness User course is a combined training program that covers both the theoretical knowledge, and the practical skills needed to safely use a full-body harness in a work environment.
This course is delivered in-person at one of our training centres, combining classroom-based theory and a practical assessment.
Total duration: Approximately 3 hours.
Must have completed the IPAF Harness Awareness online module (included as part of this course).
Basic understanding of work at height safety is helpful but not mandatory.

Assessment: Theory quiz and practical skills check
Certification: Successful delegates will receive an IPAF Harness Awareness and Harness User certificate and card, valid for 5 years.

Correctly inspect, fit, and adjust a harness.
Understand the importance of pre-use checks and periodic inspections.
Learn best practices for storage, care, and maintenance of harness equipment.
Safely don, doff, and use a full-body harness in a work-at-height environment.

Storage, care, and maintenance of harness equipment
Safe use of harnesses in Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs)
Understanding rescue requirements and planning in case of a fall
