Candidates will be required to have a level of literacy that enables them to fully understand safety notices and manufacturer’s instruction manuals. Candidates also need to physically fit and in good health as the course involves the assembling and dismantling of mobile access towers.
No formal qualifications are required but a good understanding of working at height would be beneficial.
For the practical session candidates will need suitable head, footwear, eye, and glove protection. A hard hat with a chin strap is preferable.
The duration of the PASMA Tower course is one full day.
Currently the day is split into online theory (taken prior to attending) and written assessment and practical element. Delegates will be assessed and given a 30-question multiple choice assessment and providing they pass will progress to the practical element. Assessment takes around 30 minutes and the practical is around 3-4 hours depending on the experience of the delegates.
This is a closed book course with a pass mark of 80% in both theory and practical.
This PASMA Course programme is designed for managers, supervisors and operatives who may need to construct and/or inspect Mobile Access Towers (MATs). Training methods include a mix of theoretical and practical studies, such as syndicate exercises in the erection, inspection and dismantling of a MAT. To pass the PASMA course delegates will need to successfully complete a post-course assessment paper.
