Course Objectives

Choosing the right Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) for a working at height task can be a complex challenge. Being confident and sufficiently knowledgeable to select the right platform for the job directly reduces risk.

Correct platform selection also improves the effectiveness and efficiency of MEWP operation, reducing unnecessary costs and ensuring site safety. The course guides candidates through the process of determining the right powered access unit or units for a given task.

Certification

Successful candidates will receive the IPAF Site assessment qualification and an IPAF Certificate of Training for this. These will both be accessible via the IPAF ePAL app, available on Android and iOS smartphones, which also includes a logbook and safety information. If a physical PAL card and certificate are required these must be arranged with the training department prior to the course start date, at an additional charge of £15 plus VAT.

Who Should Attend

Those working for rental companies who need to assess which type of powered access a client should rent/hire from them for the work required.

Those working in any industry, such as supervisors, who wish to gain the skills and understanding required to make their own decision about which kind of MEWP to rent/hire for the work required.

Safety professionals who need to assess whether or not the platform being used is the best selection for the working at height task
