IPAF and PASMA Training Courses in Bristol

IPAF and MEWP training in Bristol delivered by our fully trained, award-winning instructors. We also offer a wide range of accredited health & safety courses.

Our Bristol IPAF and MEWP training centre hosts courses to teach learners about safe practices when operating heavy machinery and powered access equipment.

Our Bristol training centre has courses accredited by The International Powered Access Federation. Successfully completing one of our courses means operators will be awarded a Powered Access Licence (PAL card) which is valid for 5 years.

Powered Access Equipment is used in a variety of industries. Operators are required by law to complete a training course to ensure they know how to operate the machinery safely. This includes learning how to: 

Conduct pre-use inspections

- Operate safely

- Conduct emergency procedures

What Types of IPAF and MEWP Training are Available?

Here are the IPAF and MEWP training courses we provide in Bristol:

IPAF Training Bristol

IPAF 3A and 3B Operator Training: During this programme, learners will understand how to operate various Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) safely. Learners will learn how to operate and prepare equipment and identify risks. These machines include mobile booms, electric boom lifts, cherry pickers and scissor lifts.

IPAF OP - Mobile Vertical/Mobile Boom/Static Boom 3A 3B 1B: Learners will learn the safe operation of MEWPs. This course is typically for operators who need to renew their licence.

IPAF OP - Static Booms 1B: Learners will gain an understanding of how to safely operate static boom lifts. Our course conductors will provide hands-on demos and learners will be assessed through practical and written evaluation.

IPAF Harness: There are 3 different harness courses – either Harness Awareness which is done via e-learning, Harness User which teaches you how to don a harness correctly, and Harness Inspection which teaches you how to inspect a harness. If you are in a role such as a managerial position, a supervisor or operative responsible for harness and lanyards for MEWP usage, one of these courses is perfect for you.

IPAF Load Unload or Load Unload +: If you’re wanting to learn how to safely load, unload and position vehicles and conduct safe transport inspections, this course is for you. Please note the Load Unload is for vehicles under 7.5 tonne, and the Load Unload + is for vehicles 7.5 tonne and above.

In our centre for IPAF training in Bristol, you will learn:

- Legislation and health and safety practices associated with each equipment

- Safe operational practices of MEWPs and set by the IPAF

- How to operate, drive and manoeuvre static boom lifts safely

PASMA Training Bristol

PASMA Towers for Users Course: Learners will gain the skills and knowledge they need to take down Mobile Aluminium Towers (MAT’s) safely in accordance with laws and regulations and assess potential hazards of such equipment.

PASMA Towers for Managers Course: For those who manage or supervise those who are erecting, dismantling or inspecting mobile aluminium towers.
